This Site FAQ
Q: What is a wiki?
A: This site, for one, is an example of a Wiki. (In fact, it illustrates more-or-less exactly what you will be given as a starting point.) You could learn more about wikis by reviewing a small presentation presented in March-07 at the weekly MTM: http://emit.phys.ocean.dal.ca/~kelley/MTM/past/2007-03-15/ - or by reading even more online at such places as Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki (again, also itself a wiki).
Q: Can I use a different "Skin" to change the look-and-feel of my wiki ?
A: YES - default is "monobook", from the URL: http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/Cookbook/Skins . If you really want to change the appearance of your wiki, please send a request to Dan Kelley, who will forward it along to the technical person in charge of this site. Please don't change your mind too often, or change requests will be ignored :-)
Q: Why the 200k file limit?
A: Wikis are mostly useful as a way to exchange info quickly, mainly typed text content. Such content is typically very tiny. If you want to upload your latest copy of your thesis, then you are out of luck. rather, use this service to talk about revisions, issues, etc. - the metadata, not the data.
Q: Why so few questions?
A: A work in progress!
